(1)In the exercise of the powers of appropriation, disposal and development conferred by the provisions of sections 112, 113 and 114(1) of this Act, a. . . F1 planning authority shall have regard to the desirability of preserving features of special architectural or historic interest, and in particular, listed buildings;. . . F2.

(3)In this section [F4“preserving”], in relation to a building means the [F4preserving] thereof either in its existing state or subject only to such alterations or extensions as can be carried out without serious detriment to its character, and “development” includes redevelopment.
(4)This section is without prejudice to the provisions of section 262(5) of this Act.
