21 Abolition of agricultural executive committees etc.E+W+S

(1)Sections 71 and 72 of the M1Agriculture Act 1947 (which respectively provide for the establishment of County Agricultural Executive Committees, sub-committees of the Committees and district committees and authorise the delegation to Executive Committees of the Minister’s functions relating to agriculture) shall cease to have effect; and accordingly the Executive Committees and other committees mentioned in section 71 of that Act are hereby abolished.

(2)Sections 68 and 69 of the M2Agriculture (Scotland) Act 1948 (which respectively provide for the establishment of Agricultural Executive Committees and sub-committees and authorise the delegation to Executive Committees of the functions of the Secretary of State relating to agriculture) shall cease to have effect; and accordingly the Executive Committees and sub-committees mentioned in section 68 of that Act are hereby abolished.

(3)Subsection (2) of section 11 of the M3Agriculture (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1941 (which requires the Minister and the Secretary of State acting jointly to appoint and consult an advisory committee in connection with the prevention of the spread of pests and disease among bees) shall cease to have effect; and accordingly the committee mentioned in that subsection is hereby abolished.
