6B E+W The other provisions of Part I of this Schedule shall apply to an authority mentioned in paragraph 6A above as they apply to a principal council except that

[F2 (a)] the number of members mentioned in paragraph 3(2) shall be three [F3 , and F4 . . .]

F3 (b) in the case of a police authority established under [F5 section 3 of the Police Act 1996][F6 and the Metropolitan Police Authority],F7 . . . sub-paragraphs (2) and (3) of paragraph 5 shall not apply and if the chairman is absent from a meeting of such an authority [F8 the following person shall preside—

(i) in a case in which only one vice-chairman is present at the meeting, that vice-chairman;

(ii) in a case in which more than one vice-chairman is present at the meeting, the vice-chairman chosen by the members present; and

(iii) in any other case, the member chosen by the members present;]. . .
