X1 2 E+W In section 4, in subsection (1) for the words “county borough of county district” there shall be substituted the words “county or district or the Greater London Council”.

X2 3 E+W In section 7, for paragraphs (a) to (c) there shall be substituted the following paragraphs:—

“(a) the council of a district which is not a receiving district;

(b) the Greater London Council;

(c) the council of a county, or;”

and in paragraph (d) after the words “1945” there shall be inserted the words “under section 181 of the Local Government Act 1972”.
