This is the original version (as it was originally enacted).
(1)Subject to subsection (2) of this section, the Parliament of Northern Ireland shall have power, notwithstanding anything in the [1920 c. 67.] Government of Ireland Act 1920, to enact laws for purposes corresponding to any of the purposes of this Act.
(2)Subsection (1) of this section shall not extend to the enactment of laws corresponding to so much of this Act as relates to appeals and references to the House of Lords, but Her Majesty may by Order in Council make provision in relation to Northern Ireland for corresponding purposes; and any Order under this section may be varied or revoked by a further Order.
(3)Without prejudice to the foregoing provisions of this section, there shall be inserted at the beginning of Part IV of the [1968 c. 21 (N.I.).] Criminal Appeal (Northern Ireland) Act 1968, as a new section 48A, the section set out in Schedule 4 to this Act (being a provision corresponding to section 36 of this Act).
