Betting, Gaming and Lotteries S

187 Authorities for purposes of betting, gaming and lotteries, etc. S

The provisions of the M1 Betting, Gaming and Lotteries Act 1963 and of the M2 Gaming Act 1968 relating to the authorities for the purposes of permits, licences and registration under those Acts shall have effect subject to the modifications and amendments set out in Part II of Schedule 24 to this Act.

188 Miscellaneous licensing, registration and related matters. S

(1) The local authority for the purposes of the M3 War Charities Act 1940 (registration authority for war charities) and the M4 Poisons Act 1972 (local authority’s list of persons entitled to sell poisons) shall be a regional or islands council.

(2) The local authority for the purposes of the M5 Vehicle and Driving Licences Act 1969 shall be a regional, islands or district council.

(3) For the purposes of the following enactments the local authority shall be an islands or district council—

(b) The M6 Performing Animals (Regulation) Act 1925;

(c) The M7 Theatrical Employers Registration Act 1925;

(d) The M8 Methylated Spirits (Sale by Retail) (Scotland) Act 1937;

(e) The M9 House to House Collections Act 1939;

(f) The M10 Pet Animals Act 1951;

(g) The M11 Hypnotism Act 1952;

(h) The M12 Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963;

(i) The M13 Riding Establishments Act 1964;

(j) section 44(1) of the M14 Local Government (Scotland) Act 1966 (game licences);

(k) The M15 Sale of Venison (Scotland) Act 1968;

(l) The M16 Theatres Act 1968.

(4) In consequence of the foregoing provisions of this section the enactments mentioned therein shall have effect subject to the modifications and amendments set out in Part III of Schedule 24 to this Act.
