158Food and drugs
(1)It shall be the duty of the authorities specified in the first column of the Table below to enforce and execute the provisions of the [1956 c. 30.] Food and Drugs (Scotland) Act 1956 which are specified in relation to them respectively in the second column of that Table.

(2)Notwithstanding subsection (1) above, a district council may execute and enforce the provisions of section 2 of the said Act of 1956 if the offence alleged relates to food which is alleged to contain some extraneous matter.
