6E+WNothing in this Act shall affect the operation of section 84 of the M1London Government Act 1963 (supplemental and transitional provision) or section 254 of the M2Local Government Act 1972 (consequential and supplementary provision) or any order made under either of those sections; and the definitions of “local authority” in sections 27 and 45 above shall have effect—
(a)in relation to any time before 1st April 1965, as if they included a reference to the council of a metropolitan borough; and
(b)in relation to any time before 1st April 1974, as if they included references to the council of a county or non-county borough and to the council of an urban or rural district.
