C1F130D General duties to achieve and maintain objectives etc.

It shall be the duty of the Secretary of State and of F2SEPA to exercise the powers conferred on him or it by or under the following provisions of this Part or the provisions of the F5... F3Environmental Protection Act 1990 in such manner as ensures, so far as it is practicable by the exercise of those powers to do so, that the water quality objectives specified for any waters in a notice under section 30C above, or in a notice under F4section 83 of the Water Resources Act 1991, are achieved at all times.

It shall be the duty of F2SEPA, for the purposes of the carrying out of its functions under the following provisions of this Part F6... , to monitor the extent of pollution in controlled waters.
