4 Trial of extra-territorial offences.

. . . F1 the F2M1Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973 shall have effect subject to the further amendments in Schedule 2 to this Act.

An extra-territorial offence shall not be tried summarily.

Where a person is charged with an extra-territorial offence so much of F3Article 31(1) of the Magistrates’ Courts (Northern Ireland) Order 1981 as affords to the accused a right to object to a preliminary enquiry shall not apply, and the procedure shall be by way of preliminary enquiry under the said F4Article 31, and not by way of preliminary investigation under the F5that Order.

The further provisions concerning extra-territorial offences which are contained in Schedule 3 to this Act shall have effect.
