4 Trial of extra-territorial offences.U.K.

(1) . . . F1 the [F2M1Northern Ireland (Emergency Provisions) Act 1973] shall have effect subject to the further amendments in Schedule 2 to this Act.

(2)An extra-territorial offence shall not be tried summarily.

(3)Where a person is charged with an extra-territorial offence so much of [F3Article 31(1) of the Magistrates’ Courts (Northern Ireland) Order 1981] as affords to the accused a right to object to a preliminary enquiry shall not apply, and the procedure shall be by way of preliminary enquiry under the said [F4Article 31], and not by way of preliminary investigation under the [F5that Order].

(4)The further provisions concerning extra-territorial offences which are contained in Schedule 3 to this Act shall have effect.
