7 Amendment of references in other Acts.S

In any Act passed before this Act, unless the context otherwise requires, any reference to solatium in respect of the death of any person (however expressed) shall be construed as a reference to a loss of society award within the meaning of section 1 of this Act; and any reference to a dependant of a deceased person, in relation to an action claiming damages in respect of the deceased person’s death, shall be construed as including a reference to a relative of the deceased person within the meaning of this Act.
