Section 27.
1(1)The Supplementary Benefits Commission shall continue by that name as a body corporate having perpetual succession and a common seal.
(2)The Commission shall consist of a chairman, a deputy chairman and not more than six other members appointed by the Secretary of State.
(3)At least two members of the Commission shall be women.
2Every member of the Commission shall hold and vacate office in accordance with the terms of his appointment.
3A person who has ceased to be a member of the Commission shall be eligible for reappointment.
4The Commission may act notwithstanding any vacancy among their members.
5The procedure and quorum of the Commission shall be such as the Commission may from time to time determine.
6The Secretary of State may out of moneys provided by Parliament pay to members of the Commission such remuneration as he may, with the approval of the Minister for the Civil Service, from time to time determine.
7Every document purporting to be an instrument issued by the Commission and to be sealed with the seal of the Commission or to be signed by a person authorised to act in that behalf shall be received in evidence and be deemed to be such an instrument without further proof, unless the contrary is shown.
