C1SCHEDULE 4 Superannuation of Statutory Officers

In its application to a statutory officer in respect of his service as such the principal civil service pension scheme shall be modified as set out in paragraphs 2 and 3.

For the purpose of calculating reckonable service (but not qualifying service) any period of service after the commencement of section 70 shall be deemed to be increased by one third; but an officer shall not be deemed by virtue of this paragraph to have more than 40 years’ reckonable service.

Notwithstanding paragraph 2, any lump sum payable in addition to pension under the scheme in respect of a period of actual service not exceeding 12 years shall be calculated in accordance with the following Table, with proportionate adjustment for any fraction of a year’s service:—

Up to 8 years | Three eightieths of pensionable pay for each year. |
9 years | Thirtieth eightieths of pensionable pay. |
10 years | Thirty six eightieths of pensionable pay. |
11 years | Forty two eightieths of pensionable pay. |
12 years | Forty eight eightieths of pensionable pay. |

Expressions used in this Schedule and in the principal civil service pension scheme have the same meaning in this Schedule as in that scheme.
