In subsection (4) of section 6 of the M1Merchant Shipping Act 1970 (which provides that a person shall be liable to a fine of up to £50 if he acts in contravention of subsection (1) of that section and £20 if he acts in contravention of subsection (2) of that section) after the words “subsection (1)” there shall be inserted the words “or subsection (2)” and the words from “and if” onwards shall be omitted.
