In section 61(1) of the Ancient Monuments and Archeological Areas Act 1979, in the definition of “statutory maximum”, for “section 28 of the Criminal Law Act 1977 (that is to say, £1,000 or other sum fixed by order under section 61 of that Act” substitute “section 32 of the Magistrates’ Courts Act 1980 (that is to say, £1,000 or other sum fixed under section 143 of that Act)”.
