Reserve Forces Act 1980, Cross Heading: Permanent service call out of special class of Royal Fleet Reserve otherwise than under section 11 is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 22 November 2024. 15(1)Where section 11 above does not apply to a man of the special class of the Royal Fleet Reserve he is liable during the whole of his service in that class of the reserve to be called out for permanent service at any time when warlike operations are in preparation or in progress outside the United Kingdom (including the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), but this sub-paragraph—U.K.
(a)does not make the man liable to serve for a period or periods exceeding 12 months in all without his written consent,
(b)is without prejudice to any liability imposed on the man by section 16(1) above,
and any exercise of the power under this sub-paragraph to call men out for permanent service shall be reported to Parliament forthwith.
(2)The provisions of sub-paragraph (1) above are in addition to, and not in substitution for, the provisions of any other enactment under which officers or men of—
(a)the Royal Naval Reserve and the Royal Fleet Reserve, and
(b)the Royal Marines Reserve,
are liable to be called out for permanent service.
