The Post Office shall cease to be deemed to be statutory undertakers and its undertaking a statutory undertaking for the purposes of the following enactments, namely—

a

section 20 of the National Parks and Access to the M1Countryside Act 1949;

paragraph 6 of Schedule 2 to the M2Countryside Act 1968;

Section 44(1) of the M3Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976 shall have effect as if in the definition of “statutory undertakers” for the words from “the Post Office” to “sewerage)” there were substituted the words “ any public authority exercisign functions by virtue of any provisions of sections 14 and 15 of the Water Act 1973 (which relates to sewerage), British Telecommunications and, except in sections 1(4)(a), 3(2)(d) and 4(1) of this Act, the Post Office ”.
