For the purposes of section 94(1) of and paragraph 17(2) of Schedule 13 to the M1Employment Protection (Consolidation) Act 1978 (which relate to changes of ownership of businesses), there shall be deemed to have been transferred to the CAA on the said 1st April the business of any body which by virtue of section 27(1) of the M2Civil Aviation Act 1971 ceased to have functions conferred on it in pursuance of section 7 of the M3Civil Aviation Act 1949; and a body whose business is deemed for those purposes to have been transferred by virtue of this paragraph shall on the said 1st April be deemed for the purposes of the said section 94(1) to have terminated in connection with the transfer its contracts of employment with persons employed by it immediately before the said 1st April.

In the application of the preceding sub-paragraph to Northern Ireland, for the reference to the said paragraph 17(2) and the references to the said section 94(1) there shall be substituted respectively a reference to paragraph 10(2) of Schedule 1 to the M4Contracts of Employment and Redundancy Payments Act (Northern Ireland) 1965 and references to section 23(1) of that Act.
