Supplemental provisions with respect to directions

C1C2 18C F1 Offences relating to enforcement notices.

Any person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with an enforcement notice served on him shall be guilty of an offence and liable—

a

on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum;

b

on conviction on indictment, to a fine.

Where a person is convicted of an offence under subsection (1) above, then, if without reasonable excuse the failure in respect of which he was convicted is continued after the conviction, he shall be guilty of a further offence and liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding F2 £100 for each day on which the failure continues.

Any person who intentionally interferes with any building constructed or works executed on any land in compliance with an enforcement notice or with anything installed on, under, over or across any land in compliance with such notice shall be guilty of an offence and liable—

a

on summary conviction, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum;

b

on conviction on indictment, to a fine.
