15 Islands or district council’s powers in relation to the provision of recreational, sporting, cultural and social facilities and activities.S
(1)The provisions of this section and of the following section are without prejudice to the duty imposed by subsection (1) of section 14 of this Act and are subject to subsection (2) of that section and to section 19 of this Act.
(2)[F1A local authority] may provide or do, or arrange for the provision of or doing of, or contribute towards the expenses of providing or doing, anything necessary or expedient for the purpose of ensuring that there are available, whether inside or outside their area, such facilities for recreational, sporting, cultural or social activities as they consider appropriate.
