For section 71 of the Civil Defence Act (Northern Ireland) 1939 (which applies section 7 of the M1Telegraph Act 1878 to work authorised or required to be done under that Act) there shall be substituted the following section:—

Paragraph 23 of the telecommunications code (which provides a procedure for certain cases where works involve the alteration of telecommunication apparatus) shall apply, for the purposes conferred by this Act, to the persons on whom those powers are conferred.”.
