Miscellaneous provisions as to officers

13 Officers of court not to act as F1legal representatives in that court.

(1)

F2A fee-paid part-time judge of the county court may not act as a judge of the court in relation to any proceedings in the court in which—

(a)

the judge,

(b)

a partner or employer of the judge,

(c)

a body of which the judge is a member or officer, or

(d)

a body of whose governing body the judge is a member,

is directly or indirectly engaged as F1legal representative or agent for any party F3....

(2)

Every person who contravenes this section shall for each offence be liable on summary conviction to a fine of an amount not exceeding level 3 on the standard scale.

14 Penalty for assaulting officers.

(1)

If any person assaults an officer of F6the county court while in the execution of his duty, he shall be liable—

(a)

on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 3 months or to a fine of an amount not exceeding level 5 on the standard scale, or both; or

(b)

on an order made by the F7court in that behalf, to be committed for a specified period not exceeding 3 months to . . . F8prison . . . F8or to such a fine as aforesaid, or to be so committed and to such a fine,

and F9an officer of the court may take the offender into custody, with or without warrant, and bring him before the F7court.

(2)

The judge may at any time revoke an order committing a person to prison under this section and, if he is already in custody, order his discharge.
