26[F1(1)]Subject to the provisions of any rules of court, on every [F2assessment] of costs in respect of any contentious business done by a recognised body, the [F3costs officer] may—E+W
(a)allow interest at such rate and from such time as he thinks just on money disbursed by the body for the client, and on money of the client in the possession of, and improperly retained by, the body [F4or any manager or employee of the body]; and
(b)in determining the remuneration of the body, have regard to the skill, labour and responsibility on the part of [F5any authorised person, being a manager] or employee of the body, which the business involved.
[F6(2)In this paragraph “authorised person” means an authorised person, in relation to an activity which is a reserved legal activity, within the meaning of the Legal Services Act 2007.]
