1(1)Section 21 of the M1Housing (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1968 (exchequer contributions for hostels) continues to have effect in relation to buildings provided or converted by a housing association which were approved by the Secretary of State for the purposes of subsection (1) of that section before 1st April 1975.E+W+S
(2)A registered housing association may not make an application for housing association grant in respect of a housing project which consists of or includes the carrying out of works for the provision of hostels if before 1st April 1975 any contribution has been made under section 21 of the Housing (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1968.
(3)If in a case where sub-paragraph (2) does not prevent the making of such an application a registered housing association makes an application for housing association grant in respect of a housing project falling within that sub-paragraph and the Secretary of State gives his approval to the project for the purposes of housing association grant, section 21 of the M2Housing (Financial Provisions) (Scotland) Act 1968 shall cease to have effect with respect to the provision of hostels referred to in that sub-paragraph.
