In this Part—
[F1“building society” means a building society within the meaning of the Building Societies Act 1986;]
“financial year” means the period of 12 months ending with the 31st March;
“highway”, in relation to Scotland, includes a public right of way;
“subsidiary” has [F2the meaning given by section 736 of] the Companies Act.
