18 Exercise of powers under ss. 16 and 17 in relation to registered charities.

The F1Corporation may exercise its powers under sections 16 and 17 (removal or appointment of committee member) in relation to an association which is a registered charity only if the association has, at any time before the powers are exercised, received F2financial assistance under section 24 of the Local Government Act 1988 or a grant or loan under—
F3section 50 of the Housing Act 1988 (housing association grants),
section 51 of that Act (revenue deficit grants)
section 41 (housing association grants),
section 54 or 55 (revenue deficit grants or hostel deficit grants),
section 58(2) (grants or loans by local authorities),
section 79 (loans by F1Corporation),
section 31 of the M1Housing Act 1974 (management grants), or
any enactment mentioned in paragraph 2 or 3 of Schedule 1 (pre-1974 grants and certain loans).

Sections 16 and 17 apply in relation to a trustee of such an association as they apply in relation to a committee member.

Before exercising its powers under section 17 (appointment of committee member or trustee) in relation to such an association the Corporation shall consult the Charity Commissioners; . . . F4
