C1Pt. I applied by S.I. 1991/1723, art. 3(2), Sch. 2 and art. 3(3), Sch. 3.
(1)A court in Northern Ireland shall not have jurisdiction to make a [F1Part I order] within section 1(1)(c) of this Act, other than one under Article 45(1) of the M1Matrimonial Causes (Northern Ireland) Order 1978, unless the condition in section 20 of this Act is satisfied.
(2)The High Court in Northern Ireland shall have jurisdiction to make a [F1Part I order] within [F2section 1(1)(e)] of this Act if, and only if,—
(a)the condition in section 20 of this Act is satisfied, or
(b)the ward is present in Northern Ireland on the relevant date (within the meaning of section 20(6) of this Act) and the court considers that the immediate exercise of its powers is necessary for his protection.
