SCHEDULE 2 U.K. MINOR AND CONSEQUENTIAL AMENDMENTS

The Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953 (c. 20) E+W

15 E+W In section 9(4) of the 1953 Act for “(b) or (c)” there shall be substituted “ (b), (c) or (d) ”.

16 E+W In the proviso to section 14(1) of that Act—

(a) in paragraph (a) for the word “acknowledging” there shall be substituted the word “ stating ”;

(b) in paragraph (b) the words “by an affiliation order or otherwise” shall cease to have effect;

(c) at the end of paragraph (c) there shall be added the words “ or section 56 of the Family Law Reform Act 1987 ”.

17 E+W In section 34(2) of that Act for the words “required by law” there shall be substituted the words “ required or permitted by law ”.
