On the abolition date each inner London council shall become the local education authority for its area, and references to a local education authority in the Education Acts 1944 to 1988 or in any other enactment shall be construed accordingly.

In this Part, “inner London council” means the council of an inner London borough or (in their capacity as a local authority) the Common Council of the City of London.
