Food Safety Act 1990

4Ministers having functions under Act

(1)In this Act—

  • “the Minister” means, subject to subsection (2) below—

    (a)

    in relation to England and Wales, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food or the Secretary of State;

    (b)

    in relation to Scotland, the Secretary of State;

  • “the Ministers” means—

    (a)

    in relation to England and Wales, the following Ministers acting jointly, namely, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Secretaries of State respectively concerned with health in England and food and health in Wales;

    (b)

    in relation to Scotland, the Secretary of State.

(2)In this Act, in its application to emergency control orders, “the Minister” means the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food or the Secretary of State.
