The Highways Act 1980 (c. 66)E+W+S
11E+WIn section 42 of the Highways Act 1980 (power of district councils to maintain certain highways) in subsection (2)(c)(ii) for the words “under section 84 of that Act imposing a special limit” there shall be substituted the words “ made by virtue of section 84(1)(a) of that Act imposing a speed limit ”.
12E+W+SIn each of sections 90A(1) and 90B(1) of that Act (construction of road humps) at the beginning of paragraph (b) there shall be inserted the words “ (whether or not the highway is subject to such a limit) ”.
13E+W+SIn section 90F(2) of that Act (interpretation) for the definition of “statutory” there shall be substituted—
““statutory speed limit” means a speed limit having effect by virtue of an enactment other than section 84(1)(b) or (c) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 (temporary and variable speed limits).”
