SCHEDULE 1Claims for benefit made or treated as made before 1st October 1990
Claims made or treated as made on or after 6th April 1987 and before 21st July 1989

Section 1 above shall have effect in relation to a claim made or treated as made on or after 6th April 1987 and before 21st July 1989, as if—
a
the following subsection were substituted for subsection (1)—

Except in such cases as may be prescribed, no person shall be entitled to any benefit unless, in addition to any other conditions relating to that benefit being satisfied—
a
he makes a claim for it in the prescribed manner and within the prescribed time; or
b
by virtue of regulations made under section 51 of the 1986 Act he would have been treated as making a claim for it.”,
b
there were omitted—
i
from subsection (2), the words “except as provided by section 3 below”; and
ii
subsection (3).
