National Lottery etc. Act 1993, Section 34 is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 13 March 2025. There are changes that may be brought into force at a future date. Changes that have been made appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
(1)As soon as possible after the end of every financial year, each body that in that year was paid any money under section 24 or distributed or applied any money under section 25 shall make a report to the Secretary of State on the exercise during that year of its functions under this Act.
(2)The report shall set out any directions given to the body under section 26 that had effect during the financial year to which the report relates.
[F1(2A)The report shall set out the body's policy and practice in relation to the principle that proceeds of the National Lottery should be used to fund projects, or aspects of projects, for which funds would be unlikely to be made available by—
(a)a Government department,
(b)the Scottish Ministers,
(c)a Northern Ireland department, or
(d)the National Assembly for Wales.]
(3)The Secretary of State shall lay a copy of every report received by him under this section before Parliament.
(4)This section does not apply to the Millennium Commission.
[F2(5)The functions of the Secretary of State under this section shall, in so far as they relate to any body other than–
(a)any body specified in section 23(1) whose functions relate exclusively or mainly to the arts in any one of England, Wales or Northern Ireland; or
(b)any body specified in section 23(2) whose functions relate exclusively or mainly to sport in any one of England, Wales or Northern Ireland,
be treated as exercisable in or as regards Scotland and may be exercised separately.]
[F3(6)Where a report is made under subsection (1) to the Scottish Ministers (by virtue of provision made under section 63 of the Scotland Act 1998), the Scottish Ministers shall lay a copy of the report before the Scottish Parliament.]
