SCHEDULE 1Miscellaneous amendments of the 1985 Act
Commencement of summary proceedings

(1)
Section 68 (summary proceedings) shall be amended as follows.
(2)
In subsection (1)—
(a)
at the beginning there shall be inserted the words “Subject to subsection (1A) below,”; and
(b)
for the word “6” there shall be substituted the word “12”.
(3)
After subsection (1) there shall be inserted the following subsection—
“(1A)
No such proceedings shall be commenced by virtue of this section more than three years after the commission of the offence.”
(4)
In subsection (2) for the words “subsection (1) above” there shall be substituted the words “this section”.
