In section 176 of the Factories Act 1961 (general interpretation), after subsection (8) insert—

“(8A)

In the application of this Act in relation to Wales—

(a)

any reference to a district council shall be construed as a reference to a county council or (as the case may be) county borough council; and

(b)

any reference to the district of a district council shall be construed as a reference to a county or county borough.”
