(1)The provisions of Schedule 1 to this Act (which make provision for escort arrangements [F1persons detained in youth detention accommodation]) shall have effect.
(2)The provisions of Schedule 2 to this Act shall have effect with respect to the certification of custody officers.
(3)In this Part, “custody officer” means a person in respect of whom a certificate is for the time being in force certifying—
[F2(a)that he has been approved by the Secretary of State for the purpose of performing any of the following—
(i)escort functions;
(ii)custodial duties at secure training centres;]
(b)that he is accordingly authorised to perform them.
