SCHEDULE 22Minor and consequential amendments
The Nuclear Installations Act 1965

In section 3 of the [1965 c. 57.] Nuclear Installations Act 1965, after subsection (1) (grant of nuclear site licences) there shall be inserted—

The Health and Safety Executive shall consult the appropriate Agency before granting a nuclear site licence in respect of a site in Great Britain.

In subsection (3) of that section (consultation with certain bodies), in paragraph (b), the words “the National Rivers Authority,” shall cease to have effect.

After subsection (6) of that section (variation of nuclear site licences) there shall be inserted—
6A
The Health and Safety Executive shall consult the appropriate Agency before varying a nuclear site licence in respect of a site in Great Britain, if the variation relates to or affects the creation, accumulation or disposal of radioactive waste, within the meaning of the [1993 c. 12.] Radioactive Substances Act 1993.
