The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979 shall be amended as follows.

In section 59, for the words “section 331 of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1975” there shall be substituted the words “ section 136 of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 ”.

In subsection (1) of section 61, in the definition of “the statutory maximum” in sub-paragraph (i) of paragraph (b) for the words from “section 289B” to the end of the sub-paragraph there shall be substituted the words “ subsection (8) of section 225 of the Criminal Procedure (Scotland) Act 1995 (that is to say £5,000 or another sum fixed by order under subsection (4) of that section for that purpose) ”.
