5 In Schedule 3 to the Local Government Finance Act 1982 (the Audit Commission), in paragraph 9(2) (functions to be managed separately), after paragraph (ab) (inserted by Schedule 3 to the M1 Housing Act 1996) insert—

“(ac) its functions under section 41 of the Education Act 1997 (inspections of local education authorities);”.
