(4)In section 27(5) (power of the Secretary of State to discharge prisoners not to affect duties of medical officer) (so far as that subsection continues to have effect by virtue of Schedule 6 to the Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 (existing provisions which continue to have effect in relation to prisoners sentenced before 1st October 1993)) for the word βtheβ, where it occurs for the second time, there shall be substituted the word β any β.
