In section 2(2) of the M1Security Service Act 1989 (which imposes duties on the Director-General of the Security Service), in paragraph (c) (which provides for the Secretary of State to designate the person responsible for co-ordinating police and Security Service activities) for “a person designated by the Secretary of State” there shall be substituted “ the Director General of the National Criminal Intelligence Service ”.
