55(1)In subsection (8A) of section 74 of the Mental Health (Scotland) Act 1984 (effect of certain directions), for the words “the Crime and Punishment (Scotland) Act 1997” there shall be substituted the words “ Part I of the M1Prisoners and Criminal Proceedings (Scotland) Act 1993 ”.
(2)The amendment made by sub-paragraph (1) above shall be deemed to have had effect from 1 January 1998.
