2 Approval of certain company names.E+W+S

(1)Before determining under section 26(2) of the Companies Act 1985 whether to approve the registration of a company under a name which includes—

(a)the expression “chamber of commerce” or “siambr fasnach”, or

(b)any other expression for the time being specified in regulations under section 29(1)(a) of the M1Companies Act 1985 which begins with the words “chamber of” or “chambers of” (or the Welsh equivalents),

the Secretary of State must consult at least one relevant representative body.

(2)The Secretary of State may publish guidance with respect to factors which may be taken into account in determining whether to approve the registration of a name to which this section applies.
