Restraint orders

(1)
A person commits an offence if he contravenes a restraint order.
(2)
It is a defence for a person charged with an offence under this paragraph to prove that he had a reasonable excuse for the contravention.
(3)
A person guilty of an offence under this paragraph shall be liable—
(a)
on conviction on indictment, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding 14 years, to a fine or to both, or
(b)
on summary conviction, to imprisonment for a term not exceeding six months, to a fine not exceeding the statutory maximum, or to both.
(4)
Nothing in this paragraph shall be taken to prejudice any power of the High Court to deal with the contravention of a restraint order as a contempt of court.
