54 (1) The managers of— U.K.

(a) a controlled school, voluntary school or grant-maintained integrated school within the meaning of Article 2(2) of the M1 Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986, or

(b) a pupil referral unit as defined by Article 87(1) of the M2 Education (Northern Ireland) Order 1998.

(2) In sub-paragraph (1) “managers” has the meaning given by Article 2(2) of the M3 Education and Libraries (Northern Ireland) Order 1986.
