Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000, Section 3 is up to date with all changes known to be in force on or before 03 March 2025. There are changes that may be brought into force at a future date. Changes that have been made appear in the content and are referenced with annotations.
(1)The [F2Welsh Ministers] may by order amend the definition of “open country” in section 1(2) so as to include [F3as respects Wales ] a reference to coastal land or to coastal land of any description.
(2)An order under this section may—
(a)make consequential amendments of other provisions of this Part, and
(b)modify the provisions of this Part in their application to land which is open country merely because it is coastal land.
(3)In this section “coastal land” means—
(a)the foreshore, and
(b)land adjacent to the foreshore (including in particular any cliff, bank, barrier, dune, beach or flat which is adjacent to the foreshore).
