172Charging schemes: exemptions etc

The appropriate national authority may make regulations requiring charging schemes under this Part to contain provision for or in connection with—
a
exemptions from charges,
b
the application of reduced rates of charges, or
c
the imposition of limits on the charges payable.

Subject to regulations under subsection (1) and to section 169(1) and (3), a charging scheme under this Part may contain provision of any of the descriptions specified in that subsection.

A road shall not be subject to charges imposed by more than one charging scheme under this Part, or by such a charging scheme and a scheme under Schedule 23 to the [1999 c. 29.] Greater London Authority Act 1999, at the same time.

A road shall not be subject to charges under a charging scheme under this Part if tolls are charged in respect of the use of the road.
