Part 7 of the Police (Northern Ireland) Act 1998 (c. 32) (Police Ombudsman for Northern Ireland) is amended as follows.

In section 50(1) (interpretation), after the definition of “complainant” insert—

“the Director” means the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland;

In section 52 (complaints: receipt and initial classification), in subsections (1)(b), (6) and (7), after “Board” insert “ , the Director ”.
