No reference shall, subject to subsection (2), be made under section 22, 33, 45 or 62 in relation to a transfer of a newspaper or of newspaper assets to which section 58(1) of the Fair Trading Act 1973 (c. 41) applies.

Subsection (1) does not apply in a case falling within section 59(2) of the Act of 1973.

In this section “transfer of a newspaper or of newspaper assets” has the meaning given by section 57(2) of the Act of 1973.
